Editor: For the past few years various regional districts have been increasingly crying that the sky is falling and we’re running out of water. This, in my opinion, is nothing but fear tactics to justify creating another tax grab.

Editor: I have lived in Sechelt for three years and for three years there has been a severe water shortage. There is also a great deal of hand wringing about absolutely nothing. I note with alarm that residential home construction goes on unabated.

Editor: We read a letter recently stating we should have mandatory water restrictions from May 1 to Sept. 30. This brought to light an alarming trend we have seen lately – that we should simply go without many things.

Editor: From 1990 to 2014, the population of the Sunshine Coast has increased from 20,497 to 29,580. That’s nearly 10,000 more people using water.

Editor: Writing to the paper to express my views isn’t something I do, but the anger and frustration that I (and apparently a lot of others) have over our water situation needs to be said.

Editor: It’s easy to conserve water. This morning when I took a shower, I put the plug in the tub. Ran water at lowest pressure. Shampooed hair, scrubbed torso. Turned off water.

Editor: The recent imposition of Stage 4 water restrictions for the entire Sunshine Coast should be a wakeup call to our local politicians about water usage in our Sunshine Coast community.

Editor: I took my dog up to Kinnikinnick Park on Monday, to the sports field where dogs play when people aren’t playing.

Editor: My daughter left all her stuff on the ferry last night. The issue was that it was for her one-week-old son JT. This was a panic situation because all the necessities were in her bag. I went to the Langdale terminal to find it.

Editor: I am a longtime Lower Gibsons resident. For about a month now, on my walks, I have had the dubious pleasure of passing by the anti-George encampment in downtown Lower Gibsons.
