Editor: You can be sure the naysayers will be out and do their negative thing. Why? Because they are just like that. I feel our District council and mayor did a lot of homework and the result is a good plan that will serve us well for years to come.

Editor: I have been a fulltime resident of the Sunshine Coast all of my life and yes, it is about time something happened in Gibsons. The lower village needs something positive to happen in that area.

Editor: As someone who lives with Armours Beach in view and walks it in all seasons, I am delighted to see this result. The plan as proposed was impressive, but this is much better and more in keeping with the intrinsic beauty and charm of it.

Editor: A letter published in the Coast Reporter ("Whistleblowers", Feb. 7) included a serious and false allegation. It is untrue that "wild salmon are ill and dying from diseases spread by farmed salmon.

The following letter was sent to Gibsons council and copied to Coast Reporter. I would like to lend my support to the proposed hotel/convention centre development project presently under consideration. I have lived in and around Gibsons all my life.
