Shame! Shame on the Sunshine Coast Homelessness Advisory Committee for not providing services to those homeless on the Coast. Shame on the Town of Gibsons, Sechelt and SCRD for not providing ongoing funding to address the problem of homelessness on the Coast. This is not a new problem – this is not going away. Shame on the support service networks on the Coast for playing politics rather than realizing homelessness on the Coast is one of our most pressing issues.
This man died on the street. If it had been a school day, the students of Elphinstone would have passed by our friend’s dead body.
How much more serious does it have to get?
This isn’t a federal concern nor even a provincial one. This is a local problem.
Shame on us, shame on all, shame on me for not fighting hard enough as our friends die.
