Editor: Sechelt Hospital Foundation’s foresight, practicality and generosity to our community cannot be overstated.

Editor: After two weeks of digesting the recent decision made by SCRD directors at the July 30 special board meeting in regards to recreation facilities on the Sunshine Coast, I am finally able to put words to paper.

Editor: As most Coasters know, at Davis Bay there is a long series of concrete bunkers, filled with stones, to provide a needed breakwater from the winter storms that often flooded the road in the past.

Editor: I read with interest the proposal by the new owners of Inglis House to buy a portion of what is essentially a public park (“Stonehurst owners offer to buy part of adjacent Town lot,” Aug. 14).

Editor: So disappointed on Friday to see so many tourists walking along the Snickett Park boulevard not following COVID-19 precautions. Groups of 10 and more just coming right up to people – no masks, no social distancing at all.

Editor: Our once bucolic neighborhood of Sandy Hook is changing rapidly as new homes are built and new neighbours move into our little piece of paradise. This is to be expected and until recently has been well managed.

Editor: I’m a little late getting in on the discussion about priority boarding because I was out of town but I’d like to say the windshield sticker idea for Sunshine Coast residents is a no brainer.

Editor: Water – the elixir of life. Around here, the flow in mountain creeks dwindles in summertime and roars in the winter and spring. Halfmoon Creek runs through my place, so consequently I’m particularly interested in its health.
