Editor: Re: “ Volunteers give their time to short-staffed eateries ,” Aug. 13 If the members of Coasters Helping Coasters (CHC) want to assist struggling restaurants by taking paid positions as wait and kitchen staff, more power to them.

Editor: The Sunshine Coast is in Stage 4 water restrictions. We as locals are reduced to strategizing how to save water. My family, like yours, have taken steps to save water.

Editor: Why is nobody talking about desalination? Do we not live on the ocean? Countries like South Africa and Saudi Arabia rely on desalination plants.
