Editor: I read with interest a letter in Coast Reporter about the SCRD passing a motion to study a “fixed link” to the Coast. The letter stated that we have had a drastic decline in the 25- to 44-year-olds in our workforce since 1990.

Editor: I am writing in response to Morley Baker’s and Doug Hockley’s recent letters concerning the Gibsons “majority.” To Mr.

Editor: The cartoon about Conservatives hiring an Australian advisor and comparing it to a temporary ban on foreign workers was a weak attempt at humour and misleading.

Editor: I would like to encourage every resident on the Sunshine Coast to utilize their rights and exercise their responsibility to get out and vote in this upcoming federal election.

Editor: There are many challenges to being a cyclist on our Sunshine Coast highways – terrain, weather, roads and sometimes poor driving skills.

Editor: I have the pleasure of being one of the volunteers for the candidate of my choice for this upcoming election. With other volunteers I assist in putting up some the signs currently adorning our roadsides.

Editor: One only need look at the recent power outage to see how ineffective our overpriced “smart meters” were. After digging up every single water line on the Coast we will have the same failure.

Editor: Lynn Chapman and John Turnbull in their letter (Coast Reporter, Sept. 4) make the statement: “We all know that pressures on biodiversity will only increase with climate change.
