Apples and oranges

The cartoon about Conservatives hiring an Australian advisor and comparing it to a temporary ban on foreign workers was a weak attempt at humour and misleading. The Australian is a short-term consultant who will not be moving to Canada, whereas the ban was directed at entry-level positions that could be filled by Canadians rather than foreign workers who would become residents in Canada.

Comparing apples and oranges rarely elicits a chuckle.
