Fifteen of the Sunshine Coast Skating Club STAR and Junior Academy skaters attended the Jingle Blades Competition in Chilliwack, Nov. 22 to 24.

A Christmas Co-ed Hockey Fundraiser is scheduled for Dec. 7 at Gibsons Arena to raise funds for food banks on the Coast. Hosted by the Rusty Cranks seniors’ hockey club and the Women’s Hockey League, the fun event starts at 7 p.m.

The Sunshine Coast Skating club would like to present the November Skater of the Month award to three special skaters, Ariel Wang, Eva Alveraz and Tracy Wang. Ariel is eight years old and attends Roberts Creek Elementary School.

The group behind the Puddle Jumper Classic trail race are hoping to use Sechelt’s Kinnikinnick Park for a multi-day “backyard ultra” race they’re calling On the Edge of Insanity. Mike Meggiato of Team Wolverine Athletics told Sechelt council Nov.

The Sunshine Coast Boxing Club’s Marcus Davies won a razor-thin decision Nov. 21 in a bruising bout against the tough and skilled Cody Robertson at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver.

The eighth annual Holiday Hustle 5k and 2k Run, Walk and Dance-Walk is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 15 in Sechelt.
