A Christmas Co-ed Hockey Fundraiser is scheduled for Dec. 7 at Gibsons Arena to raise funds for food banks on the Coast. Hosted by the Rusty Cranks seniors’ hockey club and the Women’s Hockey League, the fun event starts at 7 p.m.

The Sunshine Coast Skating club would like to present the November Skater of the Month award to three special skaters, Ariel Wang, Eva Alveraz and Tracy Wang. Ariel is eight years old and attends Roberts Creek Elementary School.

Ellie Gerbrandt of Roberts Creek has been chosen once again to represent Canada at the 2020 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Youth World Cup in the Netherlands.

On Oct. 12, Gibsons’ Lily Riggs competed at the 2019 Provincial Powerlifting Championships in New Westminster. Riggs placed second overall in the junior 72kg category. This was her first provincial competition in the junior age category.
