'At the age of 14, Doreen moved with her parents to Nanaimo, BC, where she met her neighbour, Patrick Howard Mullen. In her diary entry that day, she confided that she found him "tall, not dark, but handsome". Seven years later, she married him.'

'Through his life's work, Bill made a meaningful contribution in the lives of others. After service in the Canadian Navy, he had a long career in healthcare. Retiring in Sechelt, which he loved, Bill was honored to serve as a director for the Sechelt Hospital Foundation.'
