On Sunday, April 28 – for the 30th year in a row – the Sunshine Coast Earth Day Festival will take place. The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. at the Roberts Creek Pier Park – a fantastic day of learning, loving, music, and food.

The Sargeant Bay Society will be holding their AGM May 2, 7:30 p.m. at Coopers Green Hall. They will be holding a beach clean-up this Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. and doing some blackberry and other maintenance starting at 9:30 a.m.

There was a good turnout for the Annual General Meeting of the Elphinstone Community Association on April 10. Dave Newman from the Town of Gibsons was invited to attend by Director McMahon to answer questions about the Gospel Rock Development.

The Sunshine Coast Hospice Society is the grateful beneficiary of a beautiful quilt that will be raffled at the annual fundraiser, Hike for Hospice, on May 5 at Mission Point Park in Davis Bay.

Twenty-two very colourful quilts were recently dedicated during a service at St. John’s United Church, Davis Bay.

On Sunday, April 7, Living Faith Lutheran Church (LFLC) celebrated the work of their craft and quilting group. The quilts were displayed on chairs and tables throughout the church and during Sunday service they were blessed.

From April 28 to May 18, volunteers in Roberts Creek will be picking up litter in their community. The Roberts Creek Community Association is sponsoring this project with the goal of getting the garbage out of the ditches and off the roadsides.
