Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week and a lovely Easter weekend. The weather cooperated for the most part providing us with some sunny days although the temperature was barely in the double digits and the wind was cool.

I was just given one month’s notice by my landlord. I’m not really sure if this is legal or not, or what to do. I am very overwhelmed when it comes to understanding my rights.

Children in Sechelt were excited to meet the “Lions Easter Bunnies” on Sunday, April 4. The Bunnies handed out chocolate and candy at a drive-through event held at Chatelech Secondary School.

Volunteers from Gibsons churches, service groups and Elphinstone Secondary School packed and distributed more than 330 traditional Easter dinners “to go” last Sunday, setting a new record for the community event.

Well, here we are facing stepped-up COVID restrictions again; it’s important to stop the variants in their tracks! But how nice to get outside in these lengthening days and seeing what nature has to offer.

West Sechelt’s Patricia Crawshay celebrated her 100th birthday on March 21 with a few of her family members, sporting her signature pink hairdo and her letter from the Queen. Crawshay was born in 1921 in Liverpool, England.

This year the Bursary Society CFUW-Sunshine Coast is celebrating 31 years of providing educational bursaries to women on the Sunshine Coast.

As I prepare my column, Tuesday, March 30, the unbelievable, unwarranted words from John Horgan echo in my ears and I feel sickened and angered by such a hurtful attack on younger people.
