Reports of several recent fires in the community led me to ask Gibsons Fire Chief Rob Michael about talking with volunteer firefighters attached to the Cliff Mahlman Fire Hall (at Frank West Hall).

The spring migration season came to a conclusion on May 30 when our last regular migrant species, common nighthawk, was reported by three separate observers: Lee Ann Ennis and Rand Rudland in Halfmoon Bay, and John Field in Pender Harbour.

Air Cadets

The Sunshine Coast Wildlife Project is inviting community members to help conserve local wildlife by reporting bat roosts and swallow nests, and by participating in monitoring efforts for these two threatened groups.

Community Futures Sunshine Coast and Volunteer Sunshine Coast will present a full-day workshop on social enterprise for the first time on the Sunshine Coast, presented by the social enterprise accelerator Purppl.
