This first concert and dance of the year is brought to you by Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCA).
Drop in and play pickleball, the fastest growing sport in North America, now played on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, sponsored by HBCA. Plan to arrive by 5:30 p.m. Racquets and balls are provided. Cost is $4 per session. For more information, email Don Cunliffe [email protected], or Tim Dayton [email protected].
On Saturday, Feb. 23, HBCA volunteers along with Sam Bowman of SCREDO Herring Enhancement Program installed herring spawning nets on the government wharf in Halfmoon Bay. Bowman explained the necessity of having these nets/curtains installed so the herring can lay their eggs on these nets rather than on the creosote pilings found in most marinas, bays and docks. Thank you to the 12 or so volunteers and to Bowman, who brought their enthusiasm and excitement for this project.
If you are at the wharf, please be careful not to disturb the nets.
To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
