Air Cadets

The Sunshine Coast Wildlife Project is inviting community members to help conserve local wildlife by reporting bat roosts and swallow nests, and by participating in monitoring efforts for these two threatened groups.

Community Futures Sunshine Coast and Volunteer Sunshine Coast will present a full-day workshop on social enterprise for the first time on the Sunshine Coast, presented by the social enterprise accelerator Purppl.

The ninth annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Contest was a smashing success with 74 bridges registered – a 50 per cent increase from the usual 40 to 45.

The Chatelech Interact Club held a community bottle drive this month to raise funds to send three children to school in Ndandini, Kenya. The club was more than successful, raising over $1,400.

The talented Kenneth Norman Johnson conducts the Pender Harbour Choir in We Are One, “a celebration of all life on earth,” this Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. at the Botanical Gardens and Sunday, June 2, 2 p.m. at the School of Music.

Wow! Shari Ulrich’s concert with Cindy Fairbank and Julia Graff was an incredible show. Standing ovations was the theme of the evening.

The Ladies Red Serge Gala committee is looking for one or two people to volunteer to chair or co-chair this year’s event scheduled for Sept. 12 in Sechelt.

This spring members of the Sechelt Garden Club’s development committee, led by Penny Lyle, were busy beautifying Sechelt as they planted flowers to add to the boxwood along the first section of Cowrie Lane beside the Healthcare Auxiliary Thrift Shop.
