Pender Harbour & Egmont: Support the local SPCA this Saturday

This Saturday, March 2, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., come join the sweet fun and games at the Pender Harbour National Cupcake Day Party in front of the EarthFair Store. This is a fantastic fundraiser for the local BCSPCA and RASTA Sanctuary.

This Saturday, March 2, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., come join the sweet fun and games at the Pender Harbour National Cupcake Day Party in front of the EarthFair Store. This is a fantastic fundraiser for the local BCSPCA and RASTA Sanctuary. There will be delicious baking – cupcakes, pupcakes, cream puffs and Pat’s divine specialties. Aurelia will be pouring warm, wonderful Steeped Tea. Pick up free info from the greater good table. The raffle is huge; you could win one to ten prizes. Tickets are a dollar each or 10 for $5. 

Seniors Initiative activities for March include Walking Mondays at a new time, 9:30 to 10 a.m., carpet bowling Wednesdays, 1 to 3 p.m. at both PH and Egmont Community Halls. And chair yoga is Fridays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Harbourside Friendship March 7 will feature the very talented Ken Johnson leading a musical sing song. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Lunch served at noon. Drop in $10. 

The Pender Harbour Music Society’s Coffee House March 8 welcomes to the stage of the School of Music, Simon Paradis, popular singer, songwriter and guitarist performing his original music, SHINE, vocalist Nancy Pincombe with Ken Johnson on piano delivering jazz, pop and blues, and Smoking Crowns Jam Band: Jay Burnham, Djembe Mama and Don Ficko with covers of ‘60s hits. Coffee, tea and delicious desserts available. Doors open at 7 p.m., music at 7:30 p.m. 

Egmonsters interested in becoming Egmont Community Club members, please sign up with Betty Silvey at the post office before Friday, March 8. Annual membership is $5, children under 15 are free. If you were a member last year or become a member 30 days before the AGM April 7, you can vote at the AGM. The Community Club runs the Hall and Klein Lake Campground and promotes neighbourly activities open to all. 

The Pender Harbour Garden Club is pleased to present Angela Koop, manager of Deluxe Landscaping in Sechelt, on Monday, March 11, 1 to 3 p.m. at the School of Music. As a landscape architectural technologist, combined with more than 10 years of hands-on nursery experience, Koop has answers to your gardening questions, positive there is always a solution to your gardening problem. She will provide advice on pruning and tips to allow every plant in your yard to reach its full potential. Annual membership $15, drop in $5. Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and snacks.
