A total of $14,255 was raised for specialty staging and LED lights at Gibsons Heritage Playhouse by the Gibsons Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign.

The Coaster’s Car Club presented Sechelt Hospital Foundation with a cheque for $6,312 from their 2019 Show & Shine. Proceeds will go to the area of greatest need at Sechelt Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Unit.

A fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Dorian last Saturday afternoon in Sunnycrest Mall raised $1,000 to help with Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in the Bahamas, organizer Michael Maser said.

Former Sunshine Coast ElderCollege board member and program committee chair Laurean Reid has been honoured with the prestigious award of the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.
