The Sunshine Coast ElderCollege presents this year’s Clifford Smith Memorial Lecture with Dr. Michael C. Klein: “Challenging the Medical System: The Career of a Dissident Doctor.” The free lecture takes place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.

Roller skate enthusiasts and those interested in giving it a whirl are invited to roll up to the Sechelt arena this weekend for a roller skate dance party, hosted by the Sunshine Coast Roller Girls (SCRG) in collaboration with Rolla Skate Club.

Friday Markets in Madeira Gardens will continue through September each Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come shop a variety of vendors and enjoy treats from Tony’s Triple B’s. This is the big weekend throughout B.C. to raise funds for animals.

The Halfmoon Bay branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary is holding its next meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 at 9:45 a.m. at Coopers Green Hall. All guests and new members are welcome.
