Editor: My family and I went to Dakota Ridge right before Christmas to check out the snow and go for a cross country ski. As usual it was absolutely beautiful. But what was really great was the warmth of the warming hut.

Editor: Your editor is a reasonable and intelligent person, so I find it surprising that he would write such an incomplete commentary about Sechelt's latest animal control bylaw (Coast Reporter, Dec. 25).

Editor: I am a volunteer driver for meals on wheels in the Sechelt area. On Monday, Dec. 21, I picked up meals to deliver.

What a relief to know the Sunshine Coast's clear and pressing need for a permanent sitting judge in Sechelt is "under consideration" by the Ministry of the Attorney General. And here we were thinking we'd been forgotten.

Editor: I couldn't help but notice the profound irony with which two seemingly unrelated stories in Coast Reporter (Dec. 18) were inextricably linked. In the one story ("Pro-gram 'just the ticket' for youth"), Const.

I always get a bit nostalgic this time of year. It's the last edition for 2009, and as is tradition, it's our year in review, a chance for us and our readers to look back at the year that was in news, arts and sports.
