Editor: I am a long-time, frequent walk-on commuter and have some comments in regards to the service levels on the Langdale route. Simply put, there are not enough sailings in the late afternoon during the busy late spring to fall period.

It's Golden Girl time on the Coast. And no, this isn't letting the cat out of the bag.

Editor: In an excellent job of reporting by Brent Richter (Coast Reporter, July 16) some glaring gaps are starting to appear in this recycling survey.

Editor: I was recently struck by the beauty of the garden wall along the mandala turnaround at the beach in Roberts Creek.

Editor: The recent announcement of another round of cuts to the arts in B.C. continues to confound and boggle. It represents nothing less than a frontal assault on art and culture in all local, regional and provincial sectors of B.C.

It amazes me that over the past few summers, with record temperatures and record fire levels throughout the province, that human carelessness continues to be the leading cause of wildfires.

It's astounding how some politicians still put themselves in uncomfortable positions because they lack the ability to keep their mouths shut. Perhaps it's wishful thinking that politicians would understand when to shut up, but we digress.

Editor: A friend of mine was over the other day and parked on the road at the top of my driveway. We went for an hour and a half walk, and when we arrived back, the bylaw officer had ticketed her vehicle.

Editor: A couple years ago when I was protesting logging in our watershed, I told the protesters to watch the wild animals move into our towns.

Editor: Re: "Bike Race needs warning signs" (Coast Reporter, letters, July 9) I would extend a very big thank you to those involved in bringing a large-scale event like BC Bike Race to the Sunshine Coast.
