Editor: I have lived in Davis Bay for over 12 years and have seen many changes in that time. The seawall has been one of the better changes to our community, and hopefully, the Mission Point Park will be another.

Editor: For the first time in my life, I am writing a letter to the editor. The ridiculous proposed roadwork on Hwy. 101 in Davis Bay has so exasperated me that I cannot resist writing. We need neither turn lanes nor ugly traffic lights.

Editor: A random act of kindness happened to us recently. A kind lady knocked on our door to ask if she could give us a new Canadian flag as she had noticed ours was very tattered.

Editor: Residents of the Sunshine Coast have to start lobbying our municipal councillors, MLA and MP to stop what appears to be developing as a patchwork fix-it program for Highway 101. First it was Gibsons, and now it is Davis Bay.

Editor: We would like to give kudos to B.C. ferries for their excellent service on Aug. 19. We had made a reservation on the 10:50 a.m. ferry as we had to be at a funeral on Bowen Island at 2:30 p.m.
