Editor: I have lived in Davis Bay for over 12 years and have seen many changes in that time. The seawall has been one of the better changes to our community, and hopefully, the Mission Point Park will be another.

Editor: I was looking forward to co-ordinating Creek Daze because of the opportunity to meet and work with so many different Creekers. I feel so lucky and blessed to have met so many helpful and encouraging new friends.

Editor: For the first time in my life, I am writing a letter to the editor. The ridiculous proposed roadwork on Hwy. 101 in Davis Bay has so exasperated me that I cannot resist writing. We need neither turn lanes nor ugly traffic lights.

Editor: A random act of kindness happened to us recently. A kind lady knocked on our door to ask if she could give us a new Canadian flag as she had noticed ours was very tattered.

Editor: Residents of the Sunshine Coast have to start lobbying our municipal councillors, MLA and MP to stop what appears to be developing as a patchwork fix-it program for Highway 101. First it was Gibsons, and now it is Davis Bay.

Editor: Many senior residents on the Sunshine Coast will be interested to know about a meeting coming up soon.

Editor: As I was working away on my salmon art piece to contribute to the Gibsons Landing Salmon Festival's fundraising auction, it was brought to my attention that the Gibsons Landing Business Association could be offering a multinational fish farmi

Editor: The annual Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts is one of the gems of this fine community that is so supportive of artists of all kinds. The leadership and the festival staff outdo themselves every year.

Editor: We would like to give kudos to B.C. ferries for their excellent service on Aug. 19. We had made a reservation on the 10:50 a.m. ferry as we had to be at a funeral on Bowen Island at 2:30 p.m.

British Columbia is tagged by the provincial government as the "Best Place on Earth." We are blessed to be home to some of the greatest parks and trails in the world.
