The following letter was sent to Peter Fassbender, Minister of Education, and Jim Iker, president, BC Teachers’ Federation, and copied to Coast Reporter.

The following letter was sent to Premier Christy Clark and copied to Coast Reporter. I perceive the inability to solve the teachers impasse as the ultimate failure of your government.

Editor: This struggle is not theirs alone — it goes to the heart of Canadian democracy.

Editor: It is an important time in history for the general public to stand up and demand that your government of B.C. take care of our children. Demand that the government negotiate fairly with the teachers for our children and education.

Editor: The Sept. 5 Province article blaming teachers for school not starting on time did not provide the on-the-ground perspective that Coast Reporter is rightly proud of providing.

Editor: I’m disappointed your paper published a letter (Coast Reporter, Sept. 5) that was not only inflammatory, but was also wildly inaccurate. This story that I “cavalierly dismissed” a group of parents concerned about WiFi is pure fiction.

The following letter was sent to Gibsons council and copied to Coast Reporter. As a resident of Gibsons since 1981, we came in the spring and had never been here before, but decided we could live here and commute to Vancouver for work.
