Editor: Maple Reinders Inc. is the constructor of the new Sechelt wastewater treatment plant at Ebbtide, which began site work in mid-June.

Editor: Whose idea was it to have the Sea Cavalcade fireworks on a Sunday night? In a town where many people commute and go to bed before 10 p.m. and have to get up for the 6:20 a.m.

Editor: My wife and I attended the Sechelt council meeting of July 3 where we witnessed yet another rude and juvenile demonstration of bad manners towards mayor and council from naysayers of the wastewater treatment plant.

Editor: Sechelt Coun. Doug Hockley presented a few notice of motions at the June 26 committee of the whole meeting.

Editor: From my safe haven, bordering the Town of Gibsons, I watch with dismay the anti-union, anti-worker war that is being waged against the striking unionized employees who maintain the infrastructure of the District of Sechelt.

Editor: It would be a disaster if Sechelt did not get funding for an expanded sewer plant.

Editor: Undoubtedly Sechelt's municipal council members believe they are operating in the best interests of the town's taxpayers, businesses and citizens.

Editor: Pet peeves, oooh yes, I have a few. Months ago I wrote a letter to the editor about cars with burned out headlights and taillights. I thought this was a public safety plea on my part to make people aware and check their lights.
