Editor: Re: “Coast police lacking in manpower,” Coast Reporter, March 4. I certainly am all for having an adequate police force on the Sunshine Coast and appreciate the work and enforcement by our officers.

Editor: Director Mark Lebell made a reference to the “scarcity of water” in our watershed (“SCRD mulls creation of “watershed entity,” Coast Reporter, March 11). Truthfully, it’s a scarcity of infrastructure.

Editor: I have just finished reading To Save the Wild Earth by Ric Careless. It is an outstanding story of a remarkable man who spent 25 years of his life battling politicians and the logging and mining industry to save nine wilderness areas in B.C.

Editor: As a participant in the community gardens at Community Services, I am very concerned about the proposed rezoning and possible sale of the lot that currently holds the majority of the garden plots and the food bank.

Editor: The Feb. 24 Sechelt planning and community development committee meeting considered whether to allow the new SSC development to hook up to the current sewer system.

Editor: It is funny what one can get worked up about.

Editor: A relative newcomer to the Coast, I sit on the sidelines reading local papers. Until now. News regarding logging of the Chapman Creek watershed startles me. Am I missing something? Please, illuminate me.
