It is funny what one can get worked up about. We can stop lawn watering in summer, but we cannot seem to stop clear-cut logging in our watershed? Really, what is important to you, to your children, to your farms, and to your future? Do you care that a very small group of concerned citizens stand on the mountain every day in the rain, wind and cold to defend your drinking water? Can you lend a few hours of support to show you care and that you want clean protected water?
Where is our SCRD? They can stop all sorts of projects but cannot defend our water. Sechelt council must be concerned for their community, I am sure – but are they joining in this simple act of defence against clear-cut logging in our community watershed? It takes a lot of people to right a wrong; hopefully the support will come through and the large company that owns the land will not push aside our right to water for their right to profits.
