Editor: Last week my dog Sheamus and I were attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier. Sheamus required 17 stiches on and around his ear. I had four punctures that required a visit to the ER, a tetanus shot, and antibiotics. Not our best day.

Editor: Oh dear. Poor Santa. I hope he wasn’t injured when he hit the ground (“Council votes to drop Santa from the municipal hall roof,” Nov. 13) . After all, he has a big job to do very soon.

Editor: Former Sechelt mayor John Henderson has been advocating a limited approach to the problem of short-term rentals (STRs). He opposes meaningful changes to the bylaws that would regulate the dilemma. His Nov.

Editor: I am worried that the rise in COVID-19 infections is caused by a growing prevalence of conspiracy theories like the anti-vax people who have an incorrect theory that we will get herd immunity from COVID-19 if we just let people get sick.

Editor: This letter was sent to Sechelt mayor and council. Although there are many short-term rentals (STRs) on the Sunshine Coast, the majority have owner/operators on site and there are few complaints from neighbours.

Editor: My Christmas shopping is done. And I am happy to say I found everything I needed locally (as I do every year) with a few other items I made myself.
