I wish to express my appreciation to the SCRD for finally listening to community feedback and deciding to reopen the Gibsons pool “as soon as possible.” I also wish to acknowledge the proactive involvement and monetary help of the Town of Gibsons in making this happen.
I am also delighted (and supposedly so would be all environmentalists) that I will not have to drive to Sechelt two or three times a week to swim for 30 minutes. I am anxiously waiting and watching for news of the upcoming opening; I can guarantee you I will be one of the first in line. With COVID and fall bad weather upon us, registered swim times seem like one of the very few exercise options still possible for Coast residents. I rejoice that this service will now be available across the Coast.
