Editor: For 25 years running Gibsons has honoured an outstanding female resident by naming her their "Golden Girl.

Once again the Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts has scored big with patrons. The festival, which has catered to the eclectic tastes of readers for the past 30 years, is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Editor: In regards to Paul Martiquet's column, Should you be Gluten-free (Coast Reporter, Aug. 10) I think the author uses the same arguments that smokers use to dismiss any evidence of cancer from cigarettes.

Editor: Why is it that some citizens of Sechelt choose to waste time, money and energy on a negative path rather than doing something for the good of all? Ms.

Editor: I was really looking forward to a meet and greet reception for the new Gibsons Public Art Gallery location last Saturday, Aug. 11, until a dog started running around the place like it was in a park.

Watching the Olympic Games come to a close Sunday night in London had many moments of brilliance, none more so than the stirring scene of Burnaby's Christine Sinclair marching into the stadium carrying Canadian colours.
