Cancer continues to be a horrible disease that has touched all of us in one shape or form. And despite all the fundraising efforts by thousands and the research that has been done, cancer has not been beaten - at least not yet.

Editor: Mr. Evermon makes excellent points in his letter regarding big box stores (Coast Reporter, July 20).

Editor: One wonders what motivates people to want to spend Sechelt's important property tax dollars for a new lifeless logo, when the extra thousands of public money is needed to feed little, helpless, hungry, innocent children.

Editor: I want to thank the two kind and unflappable sisters who came to the aid of myself and four family members visiting from the U.K.

Editor: I read with interest Jef Keighley's letter (Coast Reporter, June 29) and find it incredible that the legal costs being absorbed by the taxpayer are entirely attributable to the current mayor and council.

Editor: On behalf of the silent majority, we would welcome big box stores at the Field Road location.

Outrage continues to boil in many of us this week concerning the sad and heartbreaking case of Captain, a two-year-old German shepherd who was left for dead on the streets of Vancouver.
