Editor: It’s one thing to spend $25 million-plus on the wastewater plant. Wanting to spend another $25 million on the airport is another. To make Sechelt as the marijuana capital of the world is just plain wrong.

Editor: Reading the article about pot producers in the Aug. 29 edition of your newspaper generated a lot of concerns in my mind. For one thing, we can very well understand why CVI wanted to have one of our councillors as a director of their company.

Editor: I was dismayed when I read the article on medical marijuana (Coast Reporter, Aug. 29).

Editor: It’s totally unacceptable that the fish waste on the highway was allowed to “cook” in the warm weather for days. The stench is sickening and shows a complete disregard towards the people living on the Coast.

Editor: I have no vested interest in Gibsons. I am not a business owner, nor do I own property in the Town of Gibsons. Yet, being a resident and property owner in Area F means Gibsons is my town and my community.

Editor: In reference to Suzanne Senger’s letter (“An opportunity to engage”) in the Aug.

Editor: Can’t Minister Fassbender and Premier Clark hear the consistent messages? We want our children back in schools for Sept. 2. We don’t want our tax dollars spent on the $40 replacement plan. That money belongs in public education.

Editor: I am truly disappointed in our provincial government. As a taxpayer, I truly believe the government had time over the summer to complete a deal with the teachers. This lack of resolution has nothing to do with affordability.
