Editor: BC Ferries’ announcement of their long anticipated automated reservation system may well create some greater measure of convenience for the travelling public.

Editor: Re: Housing proposal gains support (Coast Reporter, Dec. 12) I was pleased to see coverage regarding the emerging Community Land Trust (CLT) focused on affordable housing on the Sunshine Coast.

Editor: On Sept. 14, Hurricane Odile struck Baja California Sur in Mexico with winds approaching 200 miles per hour. It was the worst storm in the history of the region. Damage is estimated at over half a billion dollars.

Editor: The holiday season is upon us, and I see that many advertising trees are outside local businesses again. What I would like to see is that about a week before Dec.

Editor: I read Silas White’s “Setting the record straight” Dec. 5 letter with great interest. He does make some good points, but I feel his final sentence is somewhat premature.

Editor: I am a true blue community booster and shop locally regularly, especially at Christmas time. On Dec. 3, I was completely done my Christmas shopping. Yes, I make a list. And yes, I start early — and I shop locally.
