I read Silas White’s “Setting the record straight” Dec. 5 letter with great interest.
He does make some good points, but I feel his final sentence is somewhat premature.
The next school board election isn’t for four years and he is already suggesting the long-time incumbents step aside for new voices in 2018. Does he not recognize the value of having dedicated long-serving members on a board? It can be extremely valuable to have people who know the background history of the issues. A new voice is not necessarily a better voice.
