Premier David Eby has reached the half-way point of his 100-day launch plan, and while he’s racked up an impressive list of accomplishments so far, he’s also a long way away from hitting the high bar he set for himself at the start.

'Some people have thin nylon, cotton or net bags that fit into their purses or pockets. Some bring bags of bags and one friend brings her groceries to her car and loads a cardboard box. Of course, we will also have to add the habit of washing our bags, but we will figure it out.'

'A steady stream of people came; we gave out food, treats and necessities for 285 people (the highest number in 2022).'

'I would suggest that our service is urgent enough that such solutions as helicopter transportation of replacement personnel would be justified in occasional emergencies. Yes, it is costly to hire and hold such a surplus of employees, however the essential nature of our ferry service surely would justify such a commitment.'
