Peewee Crusherz finish ninth at provincials

The softball season ended on a bit of a down note for the Gibsons Peewee Crusherz in Kamloops.

Coast riders score well in Squamish

On The Edge Race Club (OTE) was a force to be reckoned with at the B.C. provincial mountain bike championships last weekend in Squamish. This event is a one-day, winner-take-all championship as opposed to the B.C.

Bantams drop three of four

Last weekend's competition proved to be too much for the Gibsons Bantam All-star team as they dropped three out of four games. Saturday started off in familiar fashion as Gibsons shut out the Surrey Canadians 4-0.

Promising start to all-star season

The all-star baseball season is in full swing in Gibsons. All three teams this year began play earlier this month and have already shown the form that sent a number of teams to the provincials last year.

Dempster has solid outing in Iowa

Ryan Dempster continued his bid to return to the Majors with a rehab start in Iowa Wednesday night. The Gibsons right-hander pitched well in his 4.1 innings, striking out seven as the Cubs topped the Albuquerque Isotopes 6-5.

Future stars hit the links

The young golfers of tomorrow enjoyed perfect weather and course conditions last week at the Langdale par three golf course. A total of 36 players took part in the fifth annual 12 and under golf tournament.
