Whitecaps teach soccer skills

Vancouver Whitecaps soccer representatives Sam Lenarduzzi and Carl Valentine made their way through Coast elementary schools Thursday, teaching some simple skills and getting kids excited about the upcoming soccer season.

The Coasters men's soccer team coached by Sean Whalen won its division at the recent Soccerfest in Squamish April 21 and 22. The squad went 3-0 in the round robin to enter the playoffs as the number one seed in their division.

Sunshine Coaster rolls this weekend

Hosted by Sunshine Coast Cycling, the 'Coaster' returns to Roberts Creek this weekend (May 5 and 6). It will be a full weekend of cycling events. Saturday is the cross-country marathon race encompassing close to 50 km of local trails.
