Fool's Run set for April 6

The 37th annual BMO Sunshine Coast April Fool's Run, presented by Coast Cable, will see 600-plus runners and walkers hoofing it from Gibsons to Sechelt on Sunday, April 6.

Ewen wins ring debut

The Sunshine Coast Boxing Club's Scott Ewen had a successful ring debut Friday, Feb. 28, at the Cascades Casino in Langley with a unanimous decision win over Langley light heavy weight Kevin Dhanda.

Elphi sends four to wrestling provincials

A successful few weeks have propelled four wrestlers from Elphinstone Secondary to the provincial championships this weekend in Prince George. Elphi started its string of success at the North Shore championships on Jan. 31.

Elphi, Pender off to provincials

The Elphinstone senior boys and Pender Harbour senior girls are both off to respective provincial championships next week in high school basketball. The Sakinaw senior girls head to Lumby for the single A provincials March 5 to 8.

Skater wins gold

Former Sunshine Coast Skating Club member Beres Clements won a gold medal at last weekend's BC Winter Games in Mission. Beres, from Gibsons, who is now skating in the Lower Mainland with the Connaught Skating Club, won the men's juvenile title.
