Museum unveils updated exhibit

Fans and friends of the long-running Beachcombers television series gathered to reflect and remember the beloved series last Saturday afternoon at the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives in Gibsons.

New date for outdoor movie

The Great Outdoor Movie Event has been rescheduled for Aug. 28. The family movie night benefiting KidSport, hosted by Sunshine Coast Credit Union and MarketPlace IGA was slated for Thursday, Aug. 15, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Craft fair this weekend

Once again artists and artisans from across the province offer up a tantalizing array of one-of-a-kind arts and crafts. The Hackett Park Arts and Craft Fair runs this weekend Saturday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m.

Salish Sea Explorers get ready for fun

This summer marks the third successful year of Sea to Sky Outdoor School's popular Salish Sea Explorers. The program offers children aged nine to 12 the opportunity to take part in a week of canoe adventure day trips based out of Gibsons Harbour.

Festival of the Rolling Arts a huge success

The 18th annual Sleepy Hollow Rod Run was a huge success. Last Friday night, Aug. 9, 416 cars started out from Hackett Park for the rod run that leaves Highway 101 to wind its way up and down Redrooffs Road through Halfmoon Bay.

Bigger and better than before

Next weekend, Aug. 23 to 25, Deer Crossing the Art Farm, in partnership with Sunshine Coast Credit Union, will host the Synchronicity Festival at Shirley Macey Park in Gibsons.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Beachcombers, the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives is launching a new and improved Beachcombers exhibit this Saturday, Aug. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m.
