Halfmoon Bay Broom-busters put in 105 man/woman hours and delivered 340 kg of busted Scotch broom to the green waste at Salish Soils in late April and early May. Congratulations and thanks to all who volunteered their time to rid the neighbourhood of this invasive species. Broombusters challenge other invaded neighbourhoods to beat their efforts. The Great Wall of Sechelt would be a good place to start.
The Halfmoon Bay Reading Centre is a volunteer-run initiative to connect Halfmoon Bay residents of all ages with library services. The Reading Centre will be open every second Wednesday from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. in the school library. There will be computers and assistance available to anyone in need of help connecting with the library online. Each session will provide a theme or a specialist on various topics, coffee and tea and a chance to chat with friends and neighbours. For more information or to find out when the next date will be, call the Halfmoon Bay Information and Referral Centre at 604-551-8461 or email [email protected]
To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
