Thank you to Earthfair for hosting and all the smiling, kind supporters who came out last Saturday in the cold, slushy, snowy weather to BCSPCA and the Humane Societies National Cupcake Day. More than $500 was raised doubling last year's total.

Gumboot Connection

Tonight (Friday, Feb. 28) stop by the Roberts Creek Legion for dinner and music by Charlotte Wrinch a Sunshine Coast folk/pop/rock singer. There is no cover, but tips gratefully appreciated. Dinner is served from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

Hands up for healthy manicures

The text message from my sister-in-law made me pause. Admittedly, she likes to have fun, but the message: Want to have a man later? seemed a little brash, considering the timing (Sunday morning) and the fact we both had spouses.
