The inaugural Car Free Day on Cowrie Street took place, Saturday, Sept. 7, in downtown Sechelt and event organizer Martin Prestage couldn’t have been happier with the results.

More than 70 households came to the fall fair Sept.

From tug of war to puzzle relays, spirited events brought local government groups together for some friendly competition

'Mike was a man of many passions. He curled, raced sailboats, played guitar, and liked his music loud. He loved the ocean, rock and roll, blues and travelling. He was passionate about sailing.'

'Mom was up for anything, whether it was painting a fence, getting new chickens or late-night hockey games, she was always there.'

The Halfmoon Bay Branch of the Sunshine Coast Health Auxiliary was thrilled to be able to donate $1,500 to each of the Pender Harbour and Sechelt food banks during the week of Aug. 26.
