August 18, 1936 - October 14, 2024

Sadly, we announce the passing of Jean Jorgenson. Born to Joe and Charlotte Luca on Veddar Mountain, Chilliwack, on August 18, 1936, Jean was the youngest of two daughters. Predeceased by her beloved husband Harold Jorgenson, father Joe Luca, mother Charlotte, older sister Marion Wiebe, and her nephew Doug Wiebe.   Survived by her only daughter Jo-Anne Conway, son-in-law Jim Conway, and her darling granddaughter Emma. Survived by her sister's family, Rick and Marcella Wiebe (Yesenia and Jesse), Pat Wiebe, Don and Shelly Wiebe, and Joe and Trina Wiebe.

Jean grew up in Aldergrove, graduating from Langley High, where she met the love of her life, "Hal." They married in the Valley and moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1956 with their 3-week-old daughter, Jo-Anne. Jean and Hal led an adventurous outdoor life...Hal fishing - Jean canning; Hal hunting - Jean cooking; Hal gardening - Jean harvesting and preserving. Their quick-witted laughter filled their home, as well as many colourful expletives. They were an awesome team! Jean's love of family and friends sustained her - playing Scrabble, hosting spirited conversation and sharing coffee alongside her freshly baked cookies, squares, and pies. Jean's greatest passion was her only granddaughter, Emma.

In the last years of Jean's life, she found community at Totem Lodge and, finally, Silverstone Care Centre. Many thanks to the staff who supported and worked with her. Special thanks to Tammy, Dawn, and Kayla.... Mom's days were made so much brighter because of your kindness and spirit of fun! Jean is still smiling!!

A private Celebration of Life will be held in

the Spring, one of Jean's favourite seasons.
