The Telus Community Action Team recently provided the Sechelt Public Library with a grant for $4,000. The funds will be used for the purchase of I-Pads and electronic robots for the Maker Space and Technology Education program for 2018.

Pam Proctor and Jacquie Allan have been leading strength and stretch exercise classes in St. Bart’s church hall on Fridays since 2000. Knowing that both are passionate about play, Jacquie’s husband Stephen Gye presented them with these T-shirts.

Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival Midwinter Weekend Concerts has two concerts this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 27 and 28, both at 2 p.m.

Please make yourself seen. If you are out at night, wear a reflective jacket or carry a flashlight, including illuminating your pets. I have seen recently (at the last moment) a few people walking wearing dark clothing.

Hopes to rid the coastline of an abandoned boat may have run aground for the West Howe Sound Community Association. That’s a shame, considering that the WHSCA has excelled in other cleanup tasks.
