The Sunshine Coast Quilters Guild raffle quilt project was taken on by the satellite group Gone to Pieces. All but one of the 20 fabrics required for the quilt were bought on the Coast.

From the first week of January to Feb. 14, the Chatelech Interact Club collected toys for the less fortunate. The gifts were given in new condition to Sunshine Coast Community Services to distribute to local, low-income families.

From the elegant Viking Star, we explore astonishing early civilizations from Greece to Italy. At Naples, most shipmates visit Pompeii; we head to Herculaneum. Looking down from the viewpoint, residences seem just recently deserted.

It’s coming up to that taxing time of year again. We should have no issues with paying our fair share of income tax to support the services governments provide.

It’s time for the annual Seedy Saturday event, this Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with early bird workshops from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Roberts Creek Community Hall and the Masonic Hall next door.

Electric Space Clown hosted Woke, a Mardi Gras-style bash at Roberts Creek Hall, on March 2. Guests came dressed for the costume contest, and the music was loud, with a woofer that trembled the dance floor.

The Halfmoon Bay Branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary is hosting another Fabulous Bridge Luncheon on April 25 at the Botanical Garden in West Sechelt.
