'Duke had a passion for the investment business and was day trading until two weeks before his death. He loved being in nature and filled his life with wilderness canoe trips, golfing, running, hiking the John Muir Trail, gardening and traveling.'

'His life reads like a novel with many chapters. Beginning in Norway building furniture, driving delivery trucks, and serving in the King's Guard. When he arrived in Canada he took those skills to open up a ski shop and later a furniture store in Gastown. He cared deeply about his customers and grew in his career as an economic developer throughout BC.'

'Following retirement, Lilo took up the game of golf and became an avid player. She captained the Senior Women's Golf Team at the Sunshine Coast Golf Course for several years. She also became involved in the community and served on the executive and as President of the Sechelt Senior's Centre. Lilo will be remembered as a wonderful cook and hostess who loved to entertain at her home in Gibsons.'
