Super Saturday, April 29, a fantastic day full of endless attractions and activities. April Tools Boat Building Challenge starts with teams frantically assembling what were the secret supplies for their hopefully winning craft, amongst the displays and vendors at Millennium Park. The Legion’s Giant Garage Sale will unlock the doors to the waiting throngs at 10 a.m. and go to 3 p.m. The Plant Sale Extravaganza at the Hall begins at 10 a.m. and goes to 3 p.m., with botanical treasure, creative, crafty vendors, and delicious food from the kitchen. Harbour Gallery, opening for the first time this year, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., showcases fabulous new masterpieces by our local artists as well as a spring sale of last season’s works at discounted prices.  

The opening of the live music season at the Clubhouse was a huge success. This Sunday, April 30, come for good food from Dean and Elle and outstanding music from Them Ordinary Things, 2 to 5 p.m., $5 cover. Thanks to Marilyn MacLeod, president of the Pender Harbour Blues Society, for bringing live music throughout the Harbour at the Clubhouse, Coffeehouse and the annual Pender Harbour Blues Festival, June 2,3 and 4. With the promise of good weather to come, the Pender Harbour Ladies Club is looking forward to golf on Thursday mornings. Guests are always welcome or join the club for a small fee and meet new golf partners. Sign up by noon Wednesday by calling the pro shop at 604-883-9541. 

Harbourside Friendships May 4, welcomes guest speaker Jennifer Wright MC, registered clinical counsellor discussing anxiety. Gathering at 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch served at noon for $10 per person. 

Seniors Initiative activities for May at the Hall include chair yoga Mondays and Fridays 11 a.m. to noon with Carole Logtenburg, drop in $3. Carpet bowling, Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m., drop in $3. Road trip to the Botanical Gardens in Sechelt May 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a walking tour of the gardens followed by lunch. To reserve a space call 604-883-9900. 

Coffeehouse at the School of Music, Friday, May 5, presents Coast performers Mark Peterson, Matt Richards, and Gen Katagiri. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. $10 suggested donation. Delicious desserts from the Pender Harbour Choir. 

EarthFair bookstore now has tickets for local events. Drop in or call 604-883-9006 and they can set yours aside. Upcoming events: Pender Harbour Choir Friday night May 12; Blooms and Books, six gardens tour May 13. 

FLAIR on the Coast will meet May 13, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. Keryll Harwood, spiritualist medium, will be our guest speaker, giving us a demonstration of mediumship. Keryll’s mission is to provide evidential messages with love, laughter, memories, and healing by bringing messages from your loved ones in the Spirit world. Our Cancer Support Group welcomes those receiving cancer treatment, have been through it or a caregiver in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area to join us.
