Pender Harbour-Egmont Highlights: Enjoy Easter pancakes in Lions Park

Happy Easter everyone!  

The annual Easter Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Pender Harbour Lions Club and sponsored by Lafarge Earle Creek Division is Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lions Park. Grab your baskets, kids, the Easter Egg Hunt is at noon.   

Yoga. Yes! It’s April and Carole Logtenberg is at the PH Community Hall Mondays and Fridays at 9:15 a.m. Beginners are welcome! Carole will be focusing on postural alignment. Every class will include strengthening and stretching poses so that you feel great when you leave class. No classes Good Friday or Easter Monday. Questions to [email protected]

Learn more ways to feel wonderful at Women’s Connection gathering Tuesday, April 11. Guest speaker Barbara McAllister will present the healing practice of sound bath therapy that can balance the autonomic nervous system, release congested energies and bring about a state of deep relaxation. This includes use of Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls, gongs and chimes that assist detaching from the pressures of life through an induced meditative state. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Presentation at 10 a.m. at the School of Music. Drop in $4.  

FLAIR on the Coast will meet on April 8, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. Andre Casaubon, who has been practising and teaching yoga for 50 years, will be our guest speaker.  He will start by meditation techniques helping us to reduce stress, anxiety, pain, sleeplessness to become more relaxed and calmer. The Cancer Support Group welcomes those receiving cancer treatment, have been through it or a caregiver in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area to join them.  For more info, call Jean at 603-883-0660 or email [email protected].  

April 14, come and enjoy an evening of fine coastal performers at the School of Music Coffee House. Gracing the stage will be Katrina and Stella Bishop, Michelle Morand and Sean Peters. Doors open at 7 p.m., music at 7:30 p.m. $10 suggested donation at the door. Coffee, tea and snacks available.  

Our visitor information centre in Madeira Park is hiring! They are looking for a young person aged 15 to 30 to work five days a week, 7.5 hours a day from May 18 to Sept. 4 for $17.25 an hour.
