September 2, 1947 - June 8, 2025
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear, gentle Joan. Her life was filled with concern and caring for those she met. Joan worked with the deaf and blind in Hawaii and adolescents in St. Louis, Chicago and Waterloo, Ontario. After marrying her husband Alan and moving to Gibsons in 1977, she worked in the family pottery business and taught swimming.
Joan has gone before her husband Alan, son Ray, daughter-in-law Amanda (Zimmerman) and amazing grandchildren Henry and Maerin. She also leaves sisters Judy, Eleanor, Dorothy Jean and brother Fred. She will be with them all in spirit as they continue their own journeys through life. She will be remembered with fondness by all who knew and loved her.
Joan passed away at Silverstone Hospice in Sechelt shortly after a wonderful visit from her family. There will be no service.
