June 10, 1948 - September 27, 2023
A second generation Coaster born in Roberts Creek to Ernest and Hazel Wallis. Bruce was the youngest of the children: Norma, Roy, Joan, Sue, Maureen and Brian. Married for 56 years to the love of his life, Cathi (Chamberlin). They lived briefly in Vancouver and Holberg before moving back to Gibsons and raising their own family: Darren (Melinda) and Kevin (Catherine). His grandchildren: Cody, Nathan, Jane, Emma, Paul and Kiki were a source of immense joy and pride for Bruce.
He and Cathi started their own business, Kingo Diesel, in 1977 and later operated Sunshine Coast Disposal. Bruce could quite often be found at the local ball fields as he was very passionate about baseball and spent many years coaching and playing. Later Bruce was fortunate to travel extensively as he and Cathi traveled all over the world.
Truly a "one of a kind" Bruce will be missed by all that loved him. Although his sense of humour and stories will long be remembered.
Rest now Bruce, your work here is done.
Memorial service to be held at Devlin Funeral Home on Saturday, October 14th at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Sunshine Coast Baseball Association would be appreciated.
