L’Ecole du Pacifique invites you to ‘cabane à sucre’

Sugar Shack

L’Ecole du Pacifique, your local public francophone school, in collaboration with its Parent Advisory Committee, the French pre-school and La society Francophone de la Côte du Soleil, is organizing its inaugural ‘cabane à sucre’: the sugar shack.

This cultural event takes place every year at the beginning of spring in many French Canadian communities around the country. It is a festival of traditional food revolving around maple products, lots of maple syrup, family time and traditional music. This will be a very “sweet” and exciting event and an opportunity to connect with the francophone community on the Coast.

The event will take place this Sunday, March 8 at the Sechelt Indian Band community hall in Sechelt (behind McDonald’s). Doors open at 4 p.m. with live music at 4:30 and dinner served at 5.

Tickets are on sale at Gaia’s in Gibsons and at Strait Music in Sechelt. Come hungry and bring your dancing shoes! For more information please call École du Pacifique at 604-885-4743.
