Kisses and Kicks: June 30 edition

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of June 30!

  • Shout Out to SK Automotive Ltd OK Tire Sechelt, I had something rubbing on the ground. Couldn’t figure it out. They said they were down a mechanic but would take a look on the hoist. Just 3 hours later I get a call. It was a simple fix!
  • Kicks to the guy who leaves his truck running on my street. I don’t suppose he will listen to this, but thank you for giving me the chance to vent.
  • Kisses to the people working from the loan cupboard at the hospital. Great service – thank you, much appreciated.
  • Many kisses to Ken Shearsmith for his sound system and his positive energy and to the Holy Family Catholic Church for the use of their beautiful space for the Annual Ceremonial Review of the 858 Skookumchuk Squadron. Also to the GREAT attendees – you all made this a truly special event for these cadets.
  • Muchos besos to “The Steward Of The Land” for keeping the roads and edges trim and clear at Henry and Reed Rd. Highways would have levelled it, but you did it with care and intention, watching out for cyclists, horse folk and your neighbours. “Don’t laugh, we’re local!”
  • Kicks to all the people who take their PETS into grocery stores.
  • Kicks to people who leave empty beer and pop cans at Crowston Lake Recreation site. Surely if you can carry the full cans in, you can carry the empties back with you.
  • Huge kisses for Trevor Routley, Gibsons’ Infrastructure Services Manager. Trevor identified a way to cut 90% of the freshwater consumption at our wastewater treatment plant. He also identified a budget and used a minimal amount of time to affect those changes. Well done Trevor – You have certainly earned your keep!
  • Kisses to Sarah from Gilligan’s in Wilson for seeing me struggle on my crutches and running home to pickup a knee scooter that she no longer needs to gift to me. I promise to pay it forward once I’m recovered!
  • Kisses and purrs to Dr Dilday, Tamara, and everyone at Landing and Eagle Ridge hospitals, for their compassionate care and support through the last few months and to have helped our “bestest little Chewie in the world” peacefully move on to kitty heaven.

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
